CSS Grid: How can I make grid pieces span a special measurement in width in comparison to their siblings?

On-screen sizes 1279px and smaller I wish to have the format of

1 column 1 column
1 column, 1 column, 1 column

The problem I run into is the grid is about up for two columns and I will be able to’t span the 3 columns proportionally. Please observe that is the present HTML I’m given.
